I remember this! C. got some Williams Sonoma hot chocolate mix as a gift and it tastes very similar to the one from City Bakery. Essentially it is chocolate shavings that you stir into milk. I like it, of course, but it does make me appreciate the watery Nestle kind with the freeze-dried marshmallows. Even I can't deal with chocolate intensity all the time.
At home I have the Nestle Toll House unsweetened cocoa. It comes in a cute house-shaped plastic container. But it's at least 2 shades lighter then its Hershey and Droste counterparts - pretty sad.
At work I've taken to adding the Splenda-fied Swiss Miss to my coffee for what I call my Makeshift Mocha. Not ideal, but not crap in a cup (as TC2 Carlos might have said).
i just ordered some hot cocoa from a spice store, penzeys, which shall hopefully be good. i think i need my cocoa pure. the cocoa i have tossed in the past is always mixed with mint or hazelnut, which becomes too interfering after a while.

coincidentally, i am almost finished with a box of nestle marshmallow cocoa! while my ghiradelli languished to the point i tossed it.
