"an nua!?" (what's goin' on? in taiwanese)

greetings from taipei!!

i finally got a break to type out a hello and greet my favoritist bloggers on the planet! i've been trying to quickly catch up on the latest postings, while longing to get back so i can finally share what i've accumulated in digital media this past week and a half.

thus far, i'm excited to share a nice dinner i had last night at this "incense tea farmhouse" where I had an overnight stay. let's just say that a huge sachet of oolong tea was involved with a hot, full-body soak. accomodations were nice.

i'll also be meeting up with high school/family friend of mine who came back to taiwan to pursue his dreams in acting/singing/pop stardom in taiwan. he's had a modicum of success (commercials, a tvshow as a supporting recurring actor of an ensemble cast, etc) and is looking for a new agent these days. it will be fun to post a pic of our little rendezvous in taipei (i'll surely append a link to some internt foto of him as, ergh, whatever character he was playing)...or perhaps i'll do it here!

(he's the guy on the bottom, furthest on the left)! or check him here.

until we meet again fellow frillseekers!

j, sounds like you are living it up with the spa treatment and hanging out with TV stars. perhaps you should think of breaking into the biz yourself? maybe a tyra style talk show?

greeeat idea aging cowgirl! the idea of all the glamour and fame being in the biz and all has been alluring ( i must admit ). and why not cash in on the colonial cache of an american upbringing by being a bigshot ABC here in taipei? i did get to see where all the pretty young thangs hoping to be discovered or to "hook" a rich bachelor all hang out. but you know we went lo-pro given the presence of paparazzi. it's only baseball caps and chunky rimmed glasses for my little star buddy.

**zuppe. okay. maybe irony hasn't lost its function quite yet. but all of the above is quite true. we lounged with sexy cocktails w/ some bangin' hiphop in the back.**

J, your trip sounds quite fabulous. You should do an E!-style "Wild on...Taiwan" show. Hosting in a bikini top is optional, of course.

I am not immune to the wonders of celebrity experiences. Someone we know got a little smooch on the cheek from Clooney himself. Kind of hard to maintain my usual distant, ironical, cynical demeanor. Squealing like a 13 year old fangirl is still something I can do very well.
