Yeah, yeah, I know I said I'd be happy for anyone of the final three to win - and while that's true, I can't help but feel just a leeeeetle bit especially happy that Chloe Dao is the winner. I loved the little candy-colored evening-wear world she created for us. I imagined this swanky-but-girly-apartment with colorful furniture and vintage-y crystal chandeliers and quirky birthday cakes. A little bit high-end-Swell (Target line designed by Cynthia Rowley and some other woman), and a little bit Balenciaga/Lanvin/Rochas/other-luxe-but-not-flashy-Euro-design-houses. I mean, she used a lot of teal, so I mean, I have to love it!
one of my favorite looks from Chloe. You know I looove the hair:
I was sad for Daniel, but he has a great start to his career, I think, by just getting to show. And a job offer from Michael Kors? Kind of awesome.
Oh, Santino. Well, I sense both a fashion AND musical mastermind in the making. But Santino, the only boys I know who blow kisses are 2 years old. I might see them in the park or on the street, but only in a club that involves mouse-ears. Needless to say, I found his soundtrack so incredibly distracting. But the models did have a fierce walk to accompany it.
I just wish the judges had more to say to him than "Oh... such a quiet, mature look for you".
Honestly, I have to say that Jay McCarroll's show from last year is still tops for me. Sorry to Starbright Oogi who's had to hear my spiel too many times... but I loved Jay's collection viscerally, like, I would totally buy a keychain from his line if I could afford it. I hope his whole merchandise-licensing works out such that one day I may be able to do that.
Yaaaaaaaaaaay, Chloe! It is so RIGHTEOUS when talented, kind, funny, emotionally open, intelligent, professional people get some props in this world. *does a Chloe-style booty pop*

very pleased, very pleased with the results of p.r.
i never did see last season's finale. and i didn't watch "project jay." so, this was my first exposure to olympus fashion week and i found the whole thing very stressful and i can't imagine working that hard for something that is "over" in about five minutes (i'm referring to the runway show itself).
i have to say i wasn't crazy about daniel's collection -- pieces here and there i thought were fun and cute and wearable, but overall, was not thrilled by his collection -- didn't see japanese sleekness, didn't see milatary. the 13th piece was really great, though.
i too am disappointed by the judges response to santino. but i have no doubt we'll see more of him and i agree santino, you aren't a loser -- you're a winner :)
i loved chloe's whole collection. i would get all of them... well, maybe the gold and blue ones. i loved that she took advantage of the "challenge" to make her "dream collection." she is fantastic and i want to go to lot 8 now. *mental note to see if jet blue flies to houston*
one more note on jay mccarroll. so, like i said, i haven't watched his runway show, or his one-time-show... but i am gonna stand up and say: i don't like jay. i find his ego huge, his comments bitchy. the fact that he liked daniel's collection the most also confused me, but whatevs. i just wanted to speak up, even though i know i'm in the minority here.
oh, and one last thing: i tried to watch a tad of "top chef" -- and the whole challenge (working the line) stressed me out sooo much. i had to turn it off.
You know, I think I liked Chloe's collection best because it was the shiniest :P In fact, I've been in search of dark brown and dark teal eyeshadows that match her fabrics for years. YEARS.
lilbunny, minority and dissenting opinions are what make this country great. this is what I tell myself whenever someone responds with shock and horreur whenever I express my intense dislike of all things keira knightley. now if you'd started a wendy pepper fan club or something, then I'd have to worry about you :P
I don't know if I can read that Salon article. First people hating on Jon Stewart, now some hateration for the Project Runway finale? I need some distance!
z, i loved your description of chloe's collection-- that sold me :) still the shrugs...not so much. now if she had replaced them with hoodies.... ;)
i thought santino's kiss to his mom was sweet. i also loved jay's collection and love jay, so people seem pretty pale in comparison. i thought tim's take this week was hilarious though... that if santino won (following jay), the show would be project freakshow.
there's a new gray's anatomy this week. yippee!
george, george, george!!!!
and being buddy buddy with preston, preston, preston!
